As parents, we strive to raise our children to uphold the values we wish to pass on to them. Christians are able to take the time to read the Bible on a daily basis and to incorporate Bible teachings into daily curriculum. Families can pray together before meals and have daily devotions without the hussle and bustle of the morning rush to get the kids on the bus.

The mealtime break doesn't necessarily mean a break from learning. As your family prepares a for mealtime, there are plenty of lessons to be learned. Math seems a lot easier when you are using it in your real life. Fractions make a lot more sense when you use measuring cups and learn to double or half recipes. Just being together for so many hours each day makes it possible to do many things with your children. It is so rewarding to watch them learn and grow. When they finally grasp a difficult concept or complete a long assignment, it is such a joy to see the accomplishment in their faces. I have always been glad I didn't delegate those rewards to someone else. When my daughter bounced all over the living room from the joy of reading her first book, I realized that homeschooling has been the best decision of my life. I would not have traded that moment for anything.
